Setting the theme of the meeting perfectly, wearing a quirky Christmas Hat, in true Alana Boggart style, we were bopping away to a lively Christmas Jingle in no time.
In a festive debut outing as Toastmaster, Nicola Taylor lead us through her Christmas Carols meeting, intriguing us with historic facts and even singing one of her fillers. Well done Nicola, maybe next time you could sing and play the Ukelele.
Deb McAlpine inspired and entertained us through her informative Mentoring Educational/Recruitment Drive – a great reminder of the importance of mentors for the club and all parties involved. Deb left us with a bonus take-away quote “Team Work – We cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own”.
Alannah Vickery had us swimming, biking and running the steps to a Half Iron Man. Painting vivid pictures of what she has achieved previously to visualising achieving her dream on the 22nd of February 2015. I don’t know about you but I was certainly was feeling the pain, exhaustion and elation as if I was there. Alannah we look forward to reliving your reality post event!
Brett Snow’s humorous spin on Genealogy, name dropping his ancestral Cosby and Disney cousins, along with his monarchy connections. Brett had us wishing we were a fly on the wall this Christmas when 27 from the family tree come together from around the globe. Perhaps Snow Genealogy table placemats would be beneficial.
The festive jolliness carried through into David Cooper’s Table Topics, with participants telling us how they will encourage people to be jolly, bring joy to the world, what will keep us awake at night, what we will decorate, is it Noel or No’el and Fred Dag with We 3 Kings.
Regular impromptu injections from the previous evening’s Court Jesters antics provided additional jolliness to the morning’s festive mood. A special thank-you to Sandra Smith and John Kelly for arranging the thoroughly entertaining evening.
Have a Jolly week everyone.
