I have total admiration for people that have overcome difficulties in life and get back up and say ok …What’s the next challenge to get ready for. Often it is perceived that this is the hard road. I would suggest that this is the easy road.
Those that sit down and do not challenge themselves may say I’m taking the easy road .
I think this concept is wrong. The easy way is to challenge as you will learn and you will get opportunity. To not even open the door of this is the hardest way.
Nothing will be learned nothing will be gained.
Recently I was in a room of potential leaders and I could see those that were not willing to challenge or be challenged in themselves. I was thinking…oh my god …that AHAH moment was shouting at me.
If this is the caliber of future leaders. We are in trouble folks. But I also felt some comfort. To stand out it this crowd is not difficult. The bar is low. For me personally I thought I have a chance to belong in this world of leadership I am wanting to enter.
All the self help in the world, having faith in yourself and conviction goes a long way. So yes taking the easy road is indeed facing up to those challenges learning from them. Stand up again and look for the next one. This is easy.
I think the alternative is very spooky indeed.
More recently I have been inspired and feel compelled to write these thoughts and share these ramblings.
I think for many years I have wanted to sing songs, write with such economic words and communicate.
Each writing is a challenge to get through and write 500 words. Each time its more difficult, easy in my new perception as I discover more.
Where does this inspiration come from ..Well its from fellow Toastmasters that are taking the easy road to becoming leaders through the vehicle of public speaking and communication skills.
Letting the repetition learnings, challenges and recommendations guide them along this easy road.
The hard road is the inaction. Can we all take the easy road. Yes we can. We all can because we can all lead someone, be lead and all be inspired.
So come on then take the easy road. The obstacles are plenty the challenges are difficult and doubts are always there to cloud your vision as you and by choice take the easy road to being a leader.
